Earlier this street was called Tiškevičius Street or Boulevard. In the summer of 1923 Dr. Jonas Basanavičius visited Palanga. As a sign of respect to the nation‘s patriarch, the citizens of Palanga renamed the Boulevard J.Basanavičius Street.
Holidaymakers like to stroll along this street, as there are many cafes, bars, restaurants and various attractions. It is also the main street leading to the sea bridge.
The reconstruction of this street was completed in 2005. J. Basanavičius Street became one of the most beautiful, modern and spacious streets in our resort.
